Leadership

Jessica Golbus, MD, MS
MiCR Co-Director
Jessica Golbus is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. She received her MD from the University of Michigan and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She then completed her training in General and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at the University of Michigan. She also received her MS through the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
Dr. Golbus is actively engaged in clinical practice in the areas of heart failure, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. Her research focuses on using digital health technology, like smartwatches, to improve the delivery of cardiovascular care and on optimizing treatments for patients with advanced heart failure.

Michael Thompson, PhD
MiCR Co-Director
Mike Thompson, PhD, is a health services researcher and Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery at Michigan Medicine with joint appointments in the Department of Health Management and Policy and Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He leads federally funded research enterprises and quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing cardiovascular healthcare quality, outcomes, and policy.
He serves as Co-Director of the Michigan Cardiac Rehab Network, Senior Advisor in the Michigan Value Collaborative, and Director of Analytic Strategy for the Center for Healthcare Outcomes and Policy.
