Work by the Michigan Cardiac Rehab Network Helps Shape National Cardiac Rehab Policy

The Michigan Cardiac Rehab Network (MiCR) contributed content to the second edition of the Million Hearts Cardiac Rehabilitation Change Package (CRCP) released in August of 2023.

Million Hearts, a national initiative co-led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) has set a goal of preventing 1 million acute cardiovascular events in 5 years. Its CRCP is a collection of straightforward and highly adaptable evidence or practice-based process improvement resources to implement as a part of a Cardiac Rehab Quality Improvement strategy.

Efforts of BMC2 and MVC align to form Michigan Cardiac Rehab Network

MiCR was created to equitably increase CR participation for all eligible individuals in across the state. BMC2 is a collaborative consortium of health care providers dedicated to improving the quality of care and outcomes for cardiovascular patients across Michigan. MVC is a collaborative that helps 100 Michigan hospitals and 40 physician organizations to improve the health of Michigan through sustainable, high-value health care. MVC helps its members better understand their performance using robust multi-payer data, customized analytics and collaborative learning opportunities that enable providers to learn from one another in a cooperative, non-competitive space.
